Relish hits Uptown Saint John
Relish Gourmet Burgers, a chain started by Entrepreneur Rivers Corbett in Fredericton, has brought its line of burgers to Saint John.

Bill and Norma Eaton are owners of the Saint John franchise located at 26 Germain Street which opened in November 2010.

The fun-fueled Relish chain got started in 2009 with its first eatery in Fredericton that was quickly followed by a second restaurant in Oromocto. It wasn’t long before rumours of expansion to other cities was the talk of burger lovers everywhere and right on cue, it was announced that Saint John would soon see a Relish location as well.

“We concentrate on providing an enhanced guest experience from the moment they walk in the doors until the very last bite,” Mr. Eaton said.

“In short, a Relish burger is everything a burger could be and everything a burger should be.”

The Relish menu, developed by Chef Ray Henry, features three different types of burger patties, a six ounce beef patty, a six ounce turkey patty or a vegetarian patty, that you can top with a range of interesting choices. The Greek Tycoon for example is crumbled feta cheese, Greek marinated bell peppers and onions, kalamata olives and tzatziki sauce. The Jersey City is fried field mushrooms, pickled peppers, Italian bacon and provolone cheese, while the wildly-popular Big Texas is a smokey BBQ sauce, crispy onion frites, pepper jack cheese and crispy bacon.

Each location gives a nod to local inspiration (try the Harvest Jazz at the Fredericton location for example) and the Saint John franchise is sure to have some menu items with some familiar names, some of which will come from local burger fans.
