Parking Commission of Saint John - Parking meters are only in effect in Saint John from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are ten off street parking lots spread throughout the City. The parking lots for the Saint John Parking Commission are free to park in after hours.

April 5, 1842. – Canada’s First Public Museum

The first public museum in Canada opens in Saint John at the Mechanics Institute. The Gesner Museum includes more than 2,000 items, mainly in the natural history field, and becomes the forerunner of the New Brunswick Museum.
