Taste To Come Home To!

George Georgoudis has been working in his family's Russell Street Vito's Restaurant since it opened in 1972. He says, "At that time, it was more or less a take-out and you could see our fathers and uncles making pizzas. We made and still do, hand-stretched pizza and every pizza was made by flipping it in the air. It was such a novelty, people would sit and watch them make pizzas all day and wouldn't leave. We ended up putting up a partition so that people would eat and go."

Besides pizzas and pastas Vito's most popular dish and biggest seller is Chicken Caesar which is a trademark registered throughout Canada. It is Boneless Breast of Chicken with Italian ham spiced with Mozerella cheese in the middle and rolled, served with rice pilaf and caesar salad.

Vito's is definitely a family business. All sauces are homemade, and nobody except family members know what spices are in their secret recipe. The mothers contribute a mouth-watering dessert - Vito's cake - a fluffy white cake with custard in the middle and a whipped coconut topping on the top.

"You're always welcome at Billy's"

Celebrating ten years in uptown Saint John, Billy's Seafood Company has earned a reputation for providing excellent service and serving exceptional food. His unique concept of a combination seafood restaurant and retail fish market offers the freshest seafood available.

"Originally we intended to have a fish market and an oyster bar, but when we saw the size of the kitchen we thought about the possibility of having a full service restaurant" says Grant. "Everything we prepare at Billy's comes directly from our fish market, which means that we have total control over the quality of the food on the plate."

Alongwith lunch and nightly specials, they also pack anything on ice so it can be transported safely and easily. Billy's restaurant has been named in Where to Eat in Canada, and also featured in such publications as Frommers Travel Guides and Maritime Flavours Guidebook & Cookbook.
